This sensational garlic lime honey shrimp recipe is a little bit spicy, tart, sweet and so easy to make! In just 20 minutes, you can have everything prepped, sautéed and served! A perfectly pescatarian dinner idea for Sunday with the family or an elegant dinner party main course with a tropical flair.
In January, I try to eat less meat in general, but if I do, I go for fish, scallops and shrimp to boost omega 3 and add healthy fats back into my diet (which has consisted mostly of pumpkin spice, creamy cocktails and cheese since October). So a meal like this is absolutely perfect, especially with a side of crispy coconut cauliflower rice to further cut back on the carbs!
As always, I love an easy dinner that can be both casual or fancy, depending only on the presentation. When served in a bowl with chopsticks, it’s a simple, tasty, casual dinner. When served with a few elegantly placed lime wedges, it’s an impressive dinner party-perfect main course!
If I were serving this at a dinner party, I would serve cucumber mint margaritas or maybe “Hawaiian Bonfire” Spicy Pineapple cocktails before dinner to complete the tropical theme.

3. Toss 12 large shrimp in a bowl with 1 tbsp. olive oil and tiny sprinkle of cayenne pepper.
4. Add 2 tbsp. butter to a sauté pan, melt and add minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1 minute over MEDIUM heat.
5. Add shrimp on top of garlic and ginger and sauté for 3 minutes, without moving them. Then, flip and sauté for 2 minutes.

Common Questions
I made this recipe specifically to go with my crispy coconut cauliflower rice, but a few perfectly delicious pairs would be standard rice (especially made with a little coconut oil), risotto, baby boy choy, crispy-tipped lemon asparagus or a nice pile of leafy greens like sautéed Swiss chard.
You can, but it’s not ideal. The shrimp will be overdone, not to mention, if you use a microwave, your roommates will be very upset with you. If you do want to reheat it, though, I suggest using a sauté pan. Add 2 tbsp. of water first, then sauté for 3-5 minutes.
A Few Tips
1. Make sure to use raw, peeled shrimp. Not cooked.
If you use cooked shrimp, they will be rubbery and over-cooked. Be sure your shrimp is raw and peeled with only tails left, or feel free to remove the tails as well.
2. Feel free to add more cayenne pepper to make it spicer.
This recipe is a teeny bit spicy, but I personally like my shrimp on the rather spicy side. I add about ⅛ tsp. of cayenne pepper to give it a nice kick.
