I use this apple cider vinaigrette, sweetened with honey, on just about every salad I make for parties. It pairs wonderfully with salads for all seasons, from Thanksgiving to Mother’s Day! It also has just 6 ingredients and takes only 5 minutes to make.

This dressing is made more complex than traditional apple cider vinaigrettes with a special ingredient: sesame oil! With a touch of sesame and soy sauce, it also pairs deliciously with Asian salads. It tastes divine when drizzled over seared bok choi and tofu too!

Ingredient Notes

6 ingredients on a table that make apple cider vinaigrette.

olive oil – You can also use a neutral oil like grapeseed oil, peanut oil, sunflower oil or canola oil.

honey dijon mustard – This is a nice, sweet dressing, but if you would like your dressing a little less sweet, feel free to use a spicy brown mustard or dijon.

soy sauce – You can make this dressing gluten-free by substituting soy sauce with Bragg’s Liquid Aminos.

apple cider vinegar – make sure to use vinegar, and not simply apple cider.

honey – again, this is a sweet dressing, but if you would like to only use honey mustard to sweeten it, feel free to leave this ingredient out.

sesame oil – Most sesame oils have a fairly strong flavor. If you would like the sesame on the lighter side, just add a little less, and a little more olive oil.

My very favorite salads for this dressing are my colorful Thanksgiving Beet Salad with Anjou Pear and my Festive Christmas Salad with Candied Pecans!

I hope you enjoy this delicious apple cider vinaigrette as much as I do!
