Ingredients

  • 6 cups sake
  • ½ cup St. Germain
  • ½ cup black currant juice - unsweetened
  • 5-6 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. granulated sugar
  • lime juice - to rim glasses
  • soda - just a splash

Instructions

  • Add black currant juice to a sauce pan with 5-6 cinnamon sticks and 1 tsp. of cloves. Simmer on low for 10 minutes. Turn off heat and let sit for another 2 minutes. Strain cloves and cinnamon, but save 4-5 cinnamon sticks. Chill spiced currant juice.
  • Once chilled, add 6 cups of chilled sake, ½ cup St. Germain and ½ cup spiced black currant juice to a bottle or punch bowl with 4-5 cinnamon sticks. Refrigerate until guests arrive.

Notes

If serving as punch, add a few sliced oranges and limes to the bowl with cinnamon sticks. You can also add a little prosecco to give it some lovely bubbles.

If you want to make a smaller batch in a bottle, simply measure the ingredients 3 parts sake, ¼ St. Germain, and  ¼ spiced currant juice. Add 3-4 cinnamon sticks to the bottle. Shake cocktail gently with ice in a shaker before serving.
