This green olive tapenade is always a lovely addition to any cheese plate! Using large, quality Spanish olives makes the tastiest spread for cheese with crackers or sliced baguette.

Perfectly Simple Green Olive Tapenade

I love having cocktail parties in the winter. It’s too cold to go searching for new cocktail bars or restaurants every weekend, so I spend the time refining my cheese plate arrangements for cocktail parties at home, and developing new treats for them.

No matter how I adjust them, which new treats I serve, or which cheeses I experiments with, this olive tapenade is a staple.

Almost any time I serve a fancy cheese plate, I serve olive tapenade. It smells divine, it tastes divine and it’s so easy to prepare! You simply grind Spanish green or kalamata olives in a food processor and serve. That’s it!

But if you want to give your tapenade a little more pep, try adding a 4th a clove of garlic, a teaspoon of olive oil and mix in some finely grated parmesan cheese by hand after you’ve ground the olives.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup green Spanish olives - pitted
  • 1 tsp. freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • 1/4 clove of garlic

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a food processor and pulse. You want the olives coarsely chopped.
